One of my absolute favorite things to do after seeing some art is seeing even more art! Every summer the Public Theater of New York or "The Public" puts together free theater showings in Central Park's Delacorte Theater. Shakespeare in the Park is the program's name but it does not just feature Shakespeare exclusively nor are the productions cheap or low quality. Find out whats playing now! The stage is very unique and I've seen some very creative sets there. I've always gotten the free tickets.
You can plan your art adventure so that you finish up around the w81st st area and walk over to the theater and get on line. Pack a blanket because to guarantee your ticket you should get there between 5 and 5:30pm but the show doesn't start till 8pm. While your waiting you can mingle with the other people on the line and order food from Andy's deli which delivers directly to you on the line! (their chicken parmesan hero is delicious) Its all well worth the wait and is relaxing.
The plays will not fail to impress you and the setting is very nice. The perfect way to finish off a day of art.
